Mind-Body-Spirit Connection
When many think of health the first thing that often comes to mind is physical health and how we treat our bodies. Although physical health is a piece of the puzzle, our mental and spiritual health has more importance than what many of us consider. The systems in our body are directly linked to one another, and neglecting one will impact the others. In order to be “healthy” we are required to prioritize all three aspects of our nature.
For example, many people experience headaches during times of great stress. Others may experience mental distress, such as depression, when their normal exercise routine is interrupted. Many people find great peace and wholeness when practicing their religious or spiritual rituals and belief systems.
It is necessary for humans to find balance between all of these aspects of nature in order to realize our full potential, reach our goals, and enjoy “wholeness.”
